SUMMARY:Maryville College Theatre Department and Broadway Center for the Arts present the Musical: Lionel Bart’s OLIVER!
DESCRIPTION:Consider yourself at home with Lionel Bart’s classic musical based on the Charles Dickens novel\, Oliver Twist. This featured Tony and Olivier Award-winning show is one of the few musicals to win an Academy Award for Best Picture and is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece by actors and audience members alike. \nThe streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver\, a malnourished orphan in a workhouse\, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. SUMMARY:Appalachian Ballet: Cinderella
DESCRIPTION:Cinderella\, a classic fairy tale ballet\, will be presented by Appalachian Ballet Company. This romantic and light-hearted three-act ballet tells the triumphant story of a young girl who finds love at a dazzling ball. The awkwardly funny stepsisters along with the glorious elegance of the Fairy Godmother and her Season Fairies help create a spectacular production for the enjoyment of the entire family. Cinderella is a ballet composed by Sergei Prokofiev and is one of the most popular and melodious compositions.  (The featured production will run approximately one and a half hours). \nCinderella will be danced by Laura Morton La Russa and dancing the role of the Prince will be James La Russa.  This husband and wife team will bring the romance to life.
