Early Bird Ride with Jim Walker – Covered Bridge Ride

Meet at 7:30 be ready to ride out at 8:00 Early Bird Ride will be to two beautiful covered bridges right here in east Tennessee. We will ride to the Emerts Cove Covered Bridge. This bridge is dedicated to the area’s first family of settlers. Frederick Emert was a Revolutionary War soldier who found this haven in 1784, calling it Emerts Cove. Go another one-half mile to visit Emerts Cove Cemetery, where he is buried. While in the area we will ride to Harrisonburg Covered Bridge. The community of Harrisburg has contained a bridge at this location since the mid-1800s. Known as the McNutts Bridge, it washed away in 1875. It was later rebuilt and stands today as an awesome sight to see. The total route will be approximately 165 miles with a 3 Dragon rating. The ride will be approximately 5 hours in duration including stops. Come out and ride and see some more majestic sights in Tennessee
