We will be riding to Carson Rose Gulf Station in Tazewell, TN, with a stop for lunch. Built in 1930, the Rose Gulf Service Station was the brainchild of Carson Rose. In 1934, Carson Rose passed away at the young age of 35 from complications following appendicitis, but the service station stayed open until 1956. The service station appeared in the 1958 cult classic Appalachian moonshining-inspired “Thunder Road” starring Robert Mitchum.
