Join us tomorrow, October 18, 2025, 10am-5pm at the historic Davis house for a free program, which is the first in a series titled “A Year in the Life of an Early-American Family: The Davis Family of Seymour, Tennessee c. 1835”
Living history expert Donna Stinnett will present a program called A Well Thought-Out Plan: Work Today to Eat Tomorrow.
Discover how early settler families used everything they had, dried and preserved food for the long winter months, and left nothing to waste. Donna will talk about preserving apples, squash, beans, sweet potatoes and more. And if you don’t know what a scaffold and poke are, join us tomorrow to find out!
Event Location: 123 Cromwell Drive, Townsend, TN
