Panther Creek State Park Overlook in Morristown, TN, for a brown bag lunch. There is no evidence of any Cherokee villages within this area, formerly known as Panther Springs. We believe the Cherokee considered this part of the Great Hunting Ground. The Great Spirit set the land apart for hunting, not habitation. In this valley, the Cherokee hunted deer, elk, small mammals, and game birds to provide food and clothing for the tribe.
