Music journalist, author, and self-proclaimed “failed musician” Lee Zimmerman brings his insider expertise to the stage, interviewing artists in a laid-back, entertaining style—think Inside the Actor’s Studio, but with more laughs and live music.
This month, Lee welcomes Rees Shad—a prolific singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and storyteller with a career spanning over three decades and more than 30 albums. Known for his poignant narratives and genre-blending compositions, Rees’s latest work, The Galahad Blues, reimagines the Knights of the Round Table as 1940s Chicago gangsters, showcasing his flair for inventive storytelling .
Beyond his musical endeavors, Rees has an extensive background in the music industry, having run an indie label, publishing company, and recording studio. He also dedicated years to academia, developing media design curricula and teaching at institutions like Parsons and CUNY .
