A Year in the Life - the Historic Davis Family: The Spinning Wheel and Fiber Arts!

Step back to the 1830s this Saturday, November 8 from 10 AMโ€“3 PM, as part of our free series, A Year in the Life of an Early-American Family: The Davis Family of Seymour, Tennessee c.1835.
Join historical interpreter Jodi Savage as she demonstrates how early-American families turned wool into yarn using an authentic 1830s spinning wheel! Learn how fibers were cleaned, carded, and transformed into the yarn that kept families warm all year long โ€” from cozy blankets to everyday clothing.
Itโ€™s a hands-on look at a skill that was once part of daily life and an incredible way to see history come alive before your eyes.
Free with admission, thanks to generous support from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
Donโ€™t miss this chance to experience the rhythm and artistry of spinning in early Tennessee life!
