Blount County Resolves

2026 Resolutions from Our Friends and Neighbors

“Write on your heart that every day will be the best day of the year,” wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson. And here in Blount County, that task feels easy. Surrounded by natural beauty, a close community, and vibrant culture, good days abound!

However, many of our Blount County community are proactive in their approach to good days for 2026. They’re making New Year’s resolutions to set intentions at the start of the year. Here are a few of our favorites.

Tony Saddy, Get Fit Maryville

Tony Saddy

“I don’t do New Year’s resolutions. However, what I do is every year I try and improve at least one percent in every pyramid of my life. So, don’t wait. Even though it’s not New Year’s, start now.”

I resolve that the Leadership Blount Rising Leaders program will be a smash hit and that people that are part of that program will gain so much new information. I hope it will advance their career, and it will turn into a wonderful experience.

My New Year’s resolution is to be slower to speak, to listen more, and to listen to understand, not just to respond.

My New Year’s resolution is to spend more time outsideย and to start a gratitude jar where I write down different things I’m grateful forย throughout the year, put them in a jar so that I can pull them out later.

My New Year’s resolution is to continue to look for great experiences, great challenges, and things that drive and motivate me.
