Join Keep Blount Beautiful and the City of Maryville for the Greatest Green Brown Creek Workday on Saturday, October 10th at the public parking lot on Parham Ave in Maryville. Volunteers are needed to remove litter from the creek and surrounding area, remove invasive plants from the creek bank, and plant native plants. The project will enhance and restore the riparian zone, support diverse habitats, improve water quality, prevent erosion, create an overall better appearance, and increase community pride and engagement.
All supplies will be provided. Volunteers should wear closed-toed shoes, long pants, and clothes that can get dirty. Volunteers are not required to work the entire event and may leave early or arrive after 9 AM.
The Brown Creek Workday is funded by a Keep America Beautiful® Greatest American Cleanup® Grant. This event is in celebration of the Greatest American Cleanup, a Keep America Beautiful initiative to help create a cleaner, greener community. Pledge to join the Greatest American Cleanup here.
