Are you between the ages of 17–30 and exploring your career options? Curious about careers in hospitality and tourism? Join this paid summer internship program to gain real-world experience, build professional skills, and earn while you learn!
Program Dates: June 15 – July 29, 2026
Locations: Blount County Public Library and participating hospitality & tourism businesses throughout Blount County

PROGRAM SCHEDULE
June 15 – July 2
Workforce Readiness & Soft Skills Training
• 13 half-days (60 hours total) at the Blount County Public Library Learning Lab and online
• Monday–Friday, 12:30–4:30 PM
• Training includes communication, professionalism, technology skills, customer service, resumes, interviewing, and workplace success strategies
• Participants will also tour local hospitality businesses and college hospitality programs
July 6 – July 24
Paid Internship Experience
• Up to 100 hours of paid hands-on experience with a local hospitality or tourism company
• Participants will gain real-world job experience and industry exposure
• Internship placements are matched based on participant interests and company availability
July 27-29
Career Readiness, Follow-Up & Capstone Presentation
• 3 half-days (12 hours total)
• Includes career follow-up, continued professional development, and participant presentations
Participants must complete all program components.
