Blount County favorite Wild Blue Yonder band serves up a rootsy blend of Appalachian, Old-Time and mountain Gospel music, honoring the rich traditions of the Great Smoky Mountains. Warm harmonies, old-time fiddle, classy cello, mandolin, banjo and light percussion shine on fresh, edgy arrangements of traditional and original songs. The group is excited to return to the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center on Friday June 7.
WBY brings a classy new face to acoustic music in 2024 with
cellist/fiddler/vocalist Kristiana McCombs Arnwine, recent winner of the Mountain Soul vocal competition in Sevier County. Her spirited, soulful style infuses the group with a fresh sparkle. Classically trained in piano, cello and voice, Kristiana is a rare new talent in East Tennessee. Wild Blue Yonder has performed professionally for 25 years across East Tennessee, Kentucky, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina. The group has produced three independent CDs, and its wide variety of Appalachian music can be heard on Spotify and other digital platforms!
