Join Keep Blount Beautiful for a walking tour of the Blount County Recycling Center, including the Household Recycling, Household Hazardous Waste, and the Glass Recycling Program. Keep Blount Beautiful and the Blount County Highway Department will take participants on a tour of Blount County’s recycling operations to better understand the importance of recycling, how to recycle, and what happens to our waste. This event is open to the public and all ages are welcome.

This event is an educational component of the Glass Waste Diversion Program, an initiative to make better use of glass waste created at local restaurants and bars that would normally end up in the landfill. Through this program, KBB provides the missing link between participating restaurants and the Blount County Recycling Center where glass is pulverized and used in local projects. The Glass Waste Diversion Program is funded by Arconic Foundation.
