Runners, families and community supporters are invited to lace up and be a hero for local children at the seventh annual Heroes for Hope 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Maryville Greenbelt Amphitheater. The event benefits New Hope Children’s Advocacy Center and raises critical awareness for child abuse prevention in Blount County.
Heroes for Hope combines the energy of a professionally timed, certified 5K with the excitement of a family-friendly, superhero-themed community celebration. Whether participants are competing for an award, chasing a personal record or cheering on their children in capes, the event is designed to welcome all ages and abilities.
Race Options Include:
• 5K – Adult
• 5K – Child (10 and under)
• Fun Run – Child (10 and under)

The Kids Fun Run begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by the in-person 5K at 8:30 a.m., both starting and ending at the Maryville Greenbelt Amphitheater.
The 5K course is certified and chip-timed. Because portions of the route are narrow, participants will begin in staggered waves. Overall and age-group winners will be recognized following the race.
While the 5K offers a competitive edge, the event also embraces its superhero theme. Participants of all ages are encouraged to wear costumes, meet superhero characters, take photos and enjoy the festive atmosphere. Fun Run participants receive medals and capes, and families can explore a vendor area featuring local businesses and interactive activities.
For those unable to attend in person, the virtual 5K allows participants to run anywhere and submit their time by 11:59 p.m. on race day.
Packet pick-up will take place Friday, April 24, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Maryville Greenbelt Pavilion next to the Amphitheater. Race day check-in will run from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m.
