In this class, students will create an irresistibly charming 2-dimensional needle felted gnome, complete with his signature oversized hat, and fluffy curly beard. Delicate embroidered berry branches frame him on either side, giving the finished piece a whimsical, storybook feel. You will learn techniques and tips for building texture and dimension with wool fibers, as well as simple embroidery stitches to bring the background to life. The finished piece is mounted in a hoop trimmed with ribbon — ready to hang and enjoy the moment you walk out the door.
Your instructor, Alicia, has years of experience and runs her own Etsy shop, Foothills Fiberworks. All materials and instruction will be provided.
